The "Indie rock/jazz fusion/cinematic film score" band, treesreach, have blessed us with their newest track How It Seems. This is the first song off of their upcoming EP Time and Time.
For me, this was one of those songs that you hear because your friends say, "Hey, listen to what we've been working on." Then even though I couldn't remember any words or even the actual melody, it's been stuck in my head ever since. (fairly ironic knowing now what the lyrics really are.)

It's by far one of the sunniest songs they've written and with a February release, it feels like they've brought a little Springtime to our below zero Iowa weather. Frontman Dillon Rairdin has said the inspiration for the lyrics came from the freedom he felt when leaving his nine-to-five desk job. They wanted the song to have the same feeling as taking a break at work and picturing yourself just getting in your car and taking off before your shift is over. I think they nailed it.
The band is often applauded for self-recording and producing their EP Galaxies Away. While they did self-record "How It Seems" in their basement, they chose to enlist the help of five-time Grammy-winning producer, Ryan Freeland, for this project. I can't wait to hear the rest of the EP but until then, check out "How It Seems" below.
