Healy "2D"

I can't get it out of my head.

It's been a while since I've been writing here. In that time away, I've still been listening to a lot of music, and one song that I haven't been able to shake is 2D from Healy.

Healy's most recent "Look at God" EP dropped in mid-August and it's been on repeat ever since. 2D and Famous Last Words featuring Cautious Clay were the earliest singles.

This project was a revitalizing experience for Healy who lost most of his hearing after a cliff-diving accident. He wasn't able to work on music for 8 months and said that it stripped his life to the studs. It was a reminder that we are never fully in control...

To know something in its wholeness you need to accept its mystery…plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. This project embodies that release for me. It’s a gradient from guarded to free…from fighting Life to surrendering to it. End of the day I’m just grateful for this tough lesson in letting go.
